Type-K Workhorse

Thermometer

The new Type-K Workhorse thermometer from Control Co, Friendswood, Tex, provides a sharp readout in dim and bright light, accuracy, temperature range, and a new chip design for lower cost. It maintains battery life for 150 to 200 continuous hours, Type-K range is -58.0 to 2372°F and -50.0 to 1300°C. Resolution is 0.1° between -50.0 to 200.0 and 1° elsewhere. Meter accuracy is ±(1°C + .75%) between 0 to 500°C; ± (1°C + 1%) 500 to 750°C; ±(1°C + 2%) 750 to 1000°C; ±(3°C + 4%) 1000 to 1200°C; ±2°C at -20; ±3°C at -40; ±4°C at -50. The recessed front panel adjustable offset allows users to adjust the thermometer to a specific temperature, an in-house calibration, or a particular sensor for increased accuracy. The hold button freezes the display to capture a current reading. It is compatible with all type-K probes. An individually serial-numbered traceable certificate is provided from the company's ISO 17025 calibration lab, accredited by A2LA. It indicates traceability to standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. A fast-response Type-K probe, bench stand, 9-volt battery, and carrying case are included. The probe diameter is ⅛ inch, the stem length is 3⅛ inches, the overall length is 5 inches, and the cable length is 40 inches. It measures 2 inches x 5 inches x 1¼ inches, and weighs 6 ounces.

WDR-3

Web data logger

TandD Corp, Saratoga Springs, NY, offers the new WDR-3, a network-compatible data logger that records output voltage and on/off (point of contact) signals from various types of sensors and measuring devices. Compatible with both analog and digital signal inputs, the logger—with its network connection—allows users to download measurements and data. It has a built-in network connection function that allows users to connect to all types of networks, including the Internet, for monitoring of real-time measurements. The product provides cost-effective means to monitor measurement signals in real time over long distances. The logger is useful for instrumentation such as flow meters, wattmeters, or analyzers, and for collecting recorded data of analyzers for environmental and weather data such as acid rain, pH, rainfall, snow accumulation, solar radiation, and wind speed/direction. The device allows data to be viewed, configured, and downloaded from a standard browser with access by LAN or Internet. An optional 802.11b adapter card is available for wireless access. Over-limit warnings can be obtained by e-mail or cell phone.
